Soccer Game Preview: Horizon Honors vs. Mountain Pointe

The Horizon Honors Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Mountain Pointe Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Horizon Honors came up short against Phoenix Country Day and fell 4-2. The loss continues a trend for Horizon Honors in their matchups with Phoenix Country Day: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Mountain Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Chaparral, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, the Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Firebirds are ranked third).

Mountain Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Horizon Honors, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
