Softball Recap: Civic Memorial Falls Short of Waterloo in the Playoffs

Civic Memorial and Waterloo squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Civic Memorial had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-3 loss on May 5th.

Bella Thien made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Allison Friedel, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Civic Memorial and nudges their season record down to 15-11. As for Waterloo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Civic Memorial nor Waterloo have any future games scheduled.
