Baseball Recap: Cicero-North Syracuse's Win on Sunday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cicero-North Syracuse ultimately got the result they hoped for on Sunday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Christian Brothers Academy Brothers. Five seems to be a good number for the Northstars as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Landon Cook looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cicero-North Syracuse saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Zimmer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Another was Shacory Williams, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The win was the third in a row for Cicero-North Syracuse, bringing their record up to 11-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Christian Brothers Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.

Coming up, Cicero-North Syracuse will face off against Saratoga Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Northstars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. Christian Brothers Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
