Softball Recap: Elko Takes a Loss

Elko was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Needles Mustangs.

Adausha O'Berto made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Kallista Crouch was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Elko's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Needles, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Elko will host Truckee at 4:00 p.m. on March 7th. Needles will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Canyon View at 8:00 p.m. on March 14th.
