Basketball Recap: Wesley Christian Starts Season with Win at Home

Wesley Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 91-72 victory over the Lab University Christian Academy National Kings. The Circuit Riders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Kings, too.

Lab University Christian Academy National's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalen Dancy, who posted 23 points and three steals. Dancy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Esmond Thomas was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 12 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Lab University Christian Academy National's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Wesley Christian will host New Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lab University Christian Academy National, they are taking a road trip to take on Oak Hill Academy Red on Saturday.
