Baseball Game Preview: Eustis Panthers vs. Davenport Broncos

The Eustis Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Davenport Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Eustis is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 9, 2025 on Thursday. They came up short against South Sumter, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 2.71 runs allowed.

Eustis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braeden Barnes, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Davenport posted their closest win since February 21, 2025 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Lake Gibson 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Broncos as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Eustis' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Davenport, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Eustis has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Davenport struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts.
