Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Merino walked away with it. They managed a 62-56 win over the Loveland Classical Lions on Friday. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Loveland Classical lost, don't look at Kole Doan. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-14 to rack up 17 points and eight boards. Doan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trevan Coberly, who shot 40% from the field en route to 13 points along with seven boards and three steals.

The victory snapped Merino's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-16 record. As for Loveland Classical, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-4 record this season.

Merino didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-55 loss against Sedgwick County on the 8th. Loveland Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
