Softball Game Preview: Deer Park Deer vs. Clear Brook Wolverines

The Deer Park Deer will head out on the road to face off against the Clear Brook Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Deer Park has seven straight wins, Clear Brook has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Deer Park proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Clear Creek, sneaking past 5-4.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Clear Brook and Dickinson, and Dickinson kept the tradition alive. Clear Brook took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dickinson on Friday.

Clear Brook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Estrella Rowe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was Rowe's first of the season.

Deer Park pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Clear Brook, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Deer Park skirted past Clear Brook 4-2 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will Deer Park repeat their success, or does Clear Brook have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
