Softball Recap: Laguna Acoma Comes Up Short

Laguna Acoma managed to slip by Rehoboth Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks lost 17-5 to the Lynx on Tuesday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lynx earlier this season, when they won 8-6.

Tavani Scott stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Lorenzo, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Laguna Acoma's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Rehoboth Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Laguna Acoma will square off against rival Navajo Pine at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rehoboth Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Hozho Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
