Baseball Game Preview: NCSSM: Durham Unicorns vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

NCSSM: Durham is 0-7 against East Wake Academy since March of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Unicorns are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, NCSSM: Durham turned things around against Neuse Charter on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 6-4.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Red Rams 17-6. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by ten runs or more this season.

East Wake Academy's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for NCSSM: Durham, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.

NCSSM: Durham suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to East Wake Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Unicorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
