Football Recap: Tallassee Falls to Montgomery Academy in First Game of Season

Tallassee unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Montgomery Academy Eagles and fell 59-3. The Tigers lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 22-16 score last time.

Montgomery Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reid McBride out in front who threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per attempt. Mac Benefield also helped with two TDs in total.

Looking ahead, Tallassee will be playing at home against Elmore County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montgomery Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Saint James at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
