Basketball Game Preview: Killdeer Cowboys vs. New Town Eagles

The Killdeer Cowboys will face off against the New Town Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Killdeer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Last Monday, Killdeer made easy work of Hettinger/Scranton and carried off a 79-55 win. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, New Town came up short against Beulah on Monday and fell 69-56. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Miners: they've now lost eight in a row.

Killdeer pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for New Town, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Killdeer took their win against New Town in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 61-39. Will Killdeer repeat their success, or does New Town have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
