Softball Recap: Philo Electrics vs. West Holmes Knights        
        
		
            
 Philo was the  5-4 winner over West Holmes when they last played one another  back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Philo Electrics fell  5-2 to the West Holmes Knights on Friday.
 Philo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kyleigh McGraw, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Philo  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with six  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 On West Holmes' side,  Briar Cline spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on six hits. Cline has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Peyton Carathers was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, a  double,  and  an  RBI.  Keegan Uhl was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Philo has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record  this season. As for West Holmes, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
 Philo will head out on the road to  face off against  Maysville at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for West Holmes, they will be playing at home against Minerva at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. West Holmes is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.8  runs per game  this season.
