Soccer Game Preview: Pittsfield vs. Northampton + How To Watch

The Pittsfield Generals are taking a road trip to square off against the Northampton Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pittsfield had taken Agawam down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Generals fell 3-1 to the Brownies. Pittsfield have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Northampton faced Longmeadow in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Neither the Blue Devils nor the Lancers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Northampton's first draw of the season.

Northampton's draw makes their record 7-0-1 this season. As for Pittsfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1.

Pittsfield came up short against Northampton when the teams last played on September 5th, falling 2-0. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
