Organ Mountain is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Centennial: they outscored them in every quarter. Organ Mountain secured a 54-48 W over Centennial on Thursday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Hawks are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mayfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-44 win over Gadsden on Thursday.

Organ Mountain pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Mayfield, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

Organ Mountain took their victory against Mayfield when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 66-45. Will Organ Mountain repeat their success, or does Mayfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
