Baseball Recap: Boquet Valley Takes a Loss

Boquet Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 14-3 to the Chazy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.

As for Chazy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

For Chazy's part, Jack McAuliffe was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases McAuliffe has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke McLennan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Boquet Valley is taking a road trip to take on Bolton Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Griffins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. Chazy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
