Basketball Recap: Cole Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cole had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Poth Pirates 47-44. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Cole found their leader in sophomore Jayvin Ybarra, who shot 64% from the field en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Braxton, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Cole pushed their record up to 29-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points over those games. As for Poth, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-12.

Cole has already played their next matchup, an 83-32 loss against Kountze on the 4th. Poth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
