Basketball Game Recap: Clearwater Fightin' Tigers vs. St. Paul Lutheran Giants

Clearwater was the 67-53 winner over St. Paul Lutheran when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Clearwater Fightin' Tigers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 64-47 to the St. Paul Lutheran Giants, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Giants are ranked 205th).

Brooklyn Weibrecht was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards for St. Paul Lutheran. Weibrecht is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Sherrill, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Clearwater has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for St. Paul Lutheran, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Clearwater wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-47 loss against East Carter on the 8th. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-29 defeat against Chaffee on the 7th.
