Softball Recap: Beaver Comes Up Short

Beaver and Duchesne squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Beaver had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Beavers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Beaver saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Wright, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

With the loss, Beaver broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-9. As for Duchesne, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-7.

Looking ahead, Beaver will take on San Juan at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Duchesne, they will face off against South Sevier at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 29th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
