James Grubbs and Nasir Void were among the main playmakers for Jefferson Davis Academy as the former rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries and the latter rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Void really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Wall, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Richard Winn Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Conway Christian and 3-8 King Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.1% over those games). As for Jefferson Davis Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Everything came up roses for Richard Winn Academy against Jefferson Davis Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 52-18 win.
