Preview: Piedmont Hills Pirates vs. Evergreen Valley Cougars
Piedmont Hills is 8-2 against Evergreen Valley since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Piedmont Hills Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Piedmont Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Evergreen Valley likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Piedmont Hills was fully in charge, breezing past Yerba Buena 77-38 on the road.
Piedmont Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Subeg Rai out in front who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. The game was Rai's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Yum, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Evergreen Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Lincoln 75-38 on the road.
Piedmont Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Evergreen Valley, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
Piedmont Hills came up short against Evergreen Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 64-60. Can Piedmont Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
