Football Recap: West Davidson Dragons vs. Ledford Panthers

West Davidson didn't have done well against Ledford recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The West Davidson Dragons blew past the Ledford Panthers, posting a 35-0 win at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Correll, who rushed for 32 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Ethan McCloskey was Correll's top target, rushing for 57 yards and a touchdown.

West Davidson's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Hayden Perryman and Killian Burr. Perryman's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, defending a pass and snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, West Davidson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since was before the start of last season.

West Davidson's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0. As for Ledford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

West Davidson will head out on the road to take on Central Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ledford, they will square off against Wheatmore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
