Volleyball Recap: Arrupe Jesuit Comes Up Short on the Road Against Stargate School

Arrupe Jesuit kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to the Stargate School Eagles. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Arrupe Jesuit took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-5, 25-15.

Daphne Castillo paced Arrupe Jesuit's offense, picking up three kills. Castillo got some help from Monse Perea and her three assists. Castillo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Stargate School had a senior duo take command as Morgan Stitzer had 18 digs and three aces and Rhyana Winkelhake had eight aces and five digs.

Arrupe Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against The Academy on the 26th. As for Stargate School, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Brush on the 23rd.
