Basketball Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Cottonwood Colts

The Dixie Flyers will take on the Cottonwood Colts at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Dixie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Dixie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They breezed past Logan to the tune of 57-26. The win continues a trend for the Flyers in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won eight in a row.

Collin Simmons had an outrageously good game as he went 8-for-11 en route to 20 points along with five boards and four blocks. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 23 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zed Webber, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cottonwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Uintah by a score of 57-49 on Saturday. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Colts were the better team in the second half.

Dixie's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for Cottonwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Dixie was able to grind out a solid win over Cottonwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, winning 52-40. Does Dixie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cottonwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
