Softball Recap: Enterprise Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Enterprise came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Quitman Panthers an 11-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 18-1 win back in February.

Enterprise got a great performance from Braylee Bergin as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Bergin posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.

At the plate, Saylee Perry was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Newton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and one RBI.

Enterprise's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Quitman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Enterprise will take on West Lauderdale at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Quitman, they will face off against Meridian at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
