Basketball Recap: Camden Coburn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Colleyville Heritage over Birdville

Colleyville Heritage lost against Birdville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Colleyville Heritage Panthers and the Birdville Hawks didn't end well, with the Colleyville Heritage Panthers falling 76-61. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Hawks are ranked 32nd).

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camden Coburn, who went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points. That's the most points Coburn has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sameer Johnson, who had 13 points.

Colleyville Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Birdville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-2.

Colleyville Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-42 defeat against Richland on the 4th. As for Birdville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-39 loss against Argyle on the 4th.
