League recap: Midwest tops Kaycee to extend winning streak

6-Man East (6 Man) recap October 22, 2013

Midwest extended the longest winning streak in 6-Man East (6 Man) this week by beating Kaycee, 45-30. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Guernsey-Sunrise was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. The Vikings defeated Saratoga 62-20 earlier in the week.

Trevor Rice was a beast in the backfield as HEM defeated Hulett.

Rice was a passing and rushing force as the Miners bested the Devils. He completed 2 passes for 38 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 282 yards. Rice's favorite target this week was Rice, who caught 2 passes for 40 yards.

Cam Ray made the biggest impact on defense this week as Midwest defeated the Buckaroos. The 5-foot-10 senior recorded 1 fumble.

Ray threw for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 7-19 with 0 interceptions.

Rice was the best running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 282 yards as HEM lost to Guernsey-Sunrise. Teammate Rj Seaman added to the ground attack by rushing for 231 yards.

Leading 6-Man East (6 Man) in both passing and receiving yards, Kaycee's Taylor Rouse and Hayden Fauber have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Rouse has thrown for 642 yards this season, while Fauber has 20 catches for 275 yards. Chris Link's team's Brady Esquibel leads the league in rushing yards with 1,003.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Dustin Sipe's team and the Vikings. The Buckaroos enters the contest ranked fifth in the state, while Guernsey-Sunrise ranks fourth.

Saratoga lost to the Vikings 62-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bartlett threw for 34 yards, ran for 60 yards and caught 8 passes for 115 yards in the defeat.
