Preview: Davis Darts vs. Northridge Knights

Davis has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Northridge Knights at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday.

Davis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Murray for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-31 victory at home. Given Davis' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Murray is ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kate Richards and Kendra Kitchen were among the main playmakers for Davis as the former scored 20 points along with three steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kitchen has scored at least 25% of Davis' points. Another player making a difference was Shea Miller, who scored six points along with five rebounds.

Even though Northridge has not done well against Farmington recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. Northridge walked away with a 48-38 victory over Farmington. The victory was just what Northridge needed coming off of a 65-27 loss in their prior game.

Davis' win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Northridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Davis beat Northridge 48-37 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Will Davis repeat their success, or does Northridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
