Recap: Spencer Greenwave vs. Southwest Patriots
The Spencer Greenwave can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 60-21 win over Southwest on the road. The win was nothing new for Spencer as they're now sitting on six straight.
Naomi Berk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. She hasn't dropped below four steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaja Dyous, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Southwest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mohogany Tharpe, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Tharpe has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Delayia Jones was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southwest struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Spencer racked up 18 assists.
Spencer has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Spencer will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Spencer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six matches. As for Southwest, they will head out on the road to challenge Kendrick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest is facing Kendrick at the right time seeing as Kendrick is stuck on a 18-game losing streak.
