Chardon and Riverside are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hilltoppers will venture away from home to challenge the Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Chardon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Chardon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Canfield just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since May 6, 2024.

Savannah Murray was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. McKenna Banville was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Riverside came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Rangers. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Riverside's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chardon, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Chardon might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Riverside in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
