Covina entered their tilt with Alhambra on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Moors.

Declan Bowers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Bowers was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Bowers wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Silva, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Aiden Ayala also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Covina hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Covina's record is now 8-5. As for Alhambra, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3-1.

Looking ahead, Covina will challenge Costa Mesa at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Alhambra, they will take on San Gabriel at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
