Basketball Recap: Hamilton Bobcats vs. Santa Rosa Academy Rangers
Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 77-36 loss at the hands of the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 98-12 back in January.
Despite the loss, Hamilton still got an impressive performance from Gustavo Villalobos, who posted 14 points. Za'Khaius (Zach) Harrell was another key player, putting up eight points.
Santa Rosa Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Jones, who went 9 for 15 to rack up 22 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mycah Mason, who went 6 of 15 en route to 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Santa Rosa Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.
Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Torah at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. One thing working in Santa Rosa Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
