Recap: Noxubee County Tigers vs. Saltillo Tigers
If the Noxubee County Tigers were riding high off their 58-18 takedown of the St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Noxubee County took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saltillo on Thursday. Noxubee County lost against Saltillo in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-44 score last time.
It was another big night for Cayden Howell, who scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Saltillo. That makes it four consecutive games in which Howell has scored at least 25% of Saltillo's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Adams, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Noxubee County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Saltillo, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Noxubee County will finish 2023 at home by hosting West Point at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Saltillo, they will head out on the road to face off against New Site on Tuesday. New Site will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
