Softball Recap: Lovington Comes Up Short

Lovington fell victim to Piedra Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Lovington and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Piedra Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Lovington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 win against Carlsbad on the 24th. As for Piedra Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-0 victory against Bloomfield on the 24th.
