Soccer Game Preview: Thornton vs. Westminster

Thornton is 0-6 against Westminster since October of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Trojans will host Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Thornton's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Thornton is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Adams City on Friday. The Trojans fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Westminster kept a clean sheet against Montbello on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Warriors. Give Westminster's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Leonel Esparza and Jose Calderon scored both of Westminster's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Westminster's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Thornton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7-1.
