Softball Game Preview: Hanceville Bulldogs vs. Good Hope Raiders

Hanceville is 0-10 against Good Hope since May of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Hanceville Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Good Hope Raiders at 4:30 p.m.

Hanceville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Vinemont on Thursday. They fell 4-1 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Good Hope had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over the Blue Devils. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Molly Benefield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natalie Miller, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Campbell Koch was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Good Hope pushed their record up to 8-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hanceville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
