Softball Game Preview: Lynden Christian Lyncs vs. Mount Vernon Bulldogs

The Lynden Christian Lyncs will challenge the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Lynden Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Nooksack Valley, taking the game 10-5.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon hadn't done well against Burlington-Edison recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Mount Vernon walked away with a 10-5 victory over Burlington-Edison. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 20.2 runs this season. As for Lynden Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Lynden Christian suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Mount Vernon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Lynden Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
