Baseball Recap: Kansas Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Kansas was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Commerce last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kansas Comets took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Verdigris Cardinals on Thursday. The loss was the Comets' first of the season.

Kansas' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Verdigris, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Kansas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Hennessey on the 14th. As for Verdigris, they have also already played their next match, a 23-5 defeat against Salina on the 14th.
