Softball Recap: Palmetto Takes a Loss

Palmetto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to the Fort Myers Green Wave.

Palmetto saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessica Ortiz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Fort Myers, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Palmetto and Fort Myers better get some defensive drills in before they play next: their upcoming opponents both sport some potent offenses. Palmetto will collide with Westminster Christian and their lofty 6.71 6.71 runs per game at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Palmetto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season. Similarly, Fort Myers will take on Western at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, a team that's put up 6.22 6.22 runs per game.
