Basketball Recap: Downers Grove South Comes Up Short

Downers Grove South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 34-24 to the Hinsdale Central Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Red Devils are ranked 68th).

Downers Grove South's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Hinsdale Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Downers Grove South has already played their next contest (against Berwyn/Cicero Morton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hinsdale Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenbard West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenbard West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
