Softball Recap: Greenfield Green Wave vs. Frontier Regional Red Hawks
Greenfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Frontier Regional on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 6-5. The Green Wave were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Hawks earlier this season, when they won 17-4.

MacKenzie Paulin was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 15 batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gloria McDonald made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bianca Reynolds, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
