Baseball Recap: Watsonville Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Watsonville's offense. They fell 3-0 to the North Salinas Vikings on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcatz in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Rudy Valdez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Watsonville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Lara, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Watsonville's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for North Salinas, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-5.

As of now, neither Watsonville nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
