Volleyball Recap: Washington County Comes Up Short

Washington County lost against Nelson County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Commanders fell 3-1 to the Cardinals.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-14, 25-19.

Rylee Hunt paced Washington County's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hunt got some help from Kate Smith and her 29 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Washington County dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Washington County has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Taylor County on the 21st. As for Nelson County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Larue County on the 21st.
