Softball Recap: Dunbar Comes Up Short

After flying high against East Lee County last Tuesday, Dunbar came back down to earth. The Fighting Tigers came up short against the Lely Trojans on Thursday, falling 15-2. The Fighting Tigers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Zoie Jackson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times she's played. Bri Shaw was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lely, their record now sits at 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunbar will host Lehigh at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lely, they will take on Golden Gate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
