Basketball Recap: Miramar Skates Past King with Ease

The Miramar Patriots blew past the King Lions, posting a 62-29 victory.

Miramar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Martell Smith out in front who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Those seven rebounds gave Smith a new career-high. Alan Charles was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

Miramar was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King only racked up three.

King's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rodney Smith, who posted four points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nuri Hakim, who put up nine points.

Miramar now has a winning record of 2-1. As for King, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Miramar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-45 victory against Seffner Christian on the 29th. As for King, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-33 loss against Westminster Academy on the 29th.
