Basketball Game Preview: Marianna Bulldogs vs. Blountstown Tigers

The Marianna Bulldogs will take on the Blountstown Tigers in a tournament on Friday. Blountstown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Marianna, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Marianna was able to grind out a solid victory over Bethlehem, taking the game 44-31.

Marianna can attribute much of their success to Ja'Shonna Mathis, who posted 12 points, and Dessiah Gee, who put up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeressa Lewis, who earned eight points.

Blountstown has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against Freeport on Thursday, falling 63-32. The Tigers were down 53-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Blountstown's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Marianna, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Marianna took a serious blow against Blountstown when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 60-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Blountstown's Cyianna Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards.
