Softball Recap: Tremont Eagles vs. Thrasher Rebels
Tremont extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They came up short against the Thrasher Rebels, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-13 back in February.
Tremont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubree Ewing, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
As for Thrasher, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2-1. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Thrasher's side, Averi-Anna Jackson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ruby White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carlee Grisham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tremont will head out to square off against Hickory Flat at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Thrasher, they will venture away from home to challenge Biggersville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
