Baseball Recap: Adam Groeblinghoff Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tonopah

Indian Springs's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Tonopah Muckers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Muckers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jacob Gourley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Indian Springs got a massive performance out of Adam Groeblinghoff, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Groeblinghoff is becoming a predictor of the Thunderbirds' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Bryant Johnson-Kostner also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Indian Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Indian Springs' record is now 8-4. As for Tonopah, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Indian Springs beat the Muckers by a score of 9-0 later that day.
