Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Thomas Edwards and Nyisah Miranda Lead Avon to Victory

There's no place like home for Avon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Atlantis with a sharp 75-51 victory on Monday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season.

Avon was led to victory by Nyisah Miranda and Thomas Edwards. Miranda almost dropped a triple-double on 26 points, nine rebounds, and 15 assists, while Edwards went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points in addition to seven boards and five blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Edwards has scored at least a third of Avon's points. Ashad Bailey was another key player, putting up ten points.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Atlantis, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Avon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Upper Cape Cod RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Upper Cape Cod RVT's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Atlantis has already played their next game (against Sturgis West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
