The Baptist Prep Eagles will face off against the South Side Hornet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Baptist Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Nemo Vista with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Marshall Eoff looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Baptist Prep let Austin Herring and Landon Thornton run wild. Herring went 2-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one double, while Thornton scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Thornton has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Brown, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, South Side scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 14-11 to Star City. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Hornet still had to take the loss.
Justus Anderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Jacob Mahan was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Baptist Prep's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for South Side, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Baptist Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .516. However, it's not like South Side struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Baptist Prep couldn't quite finish off South Side in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 7-5. Can Baptist Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
